How to get there

From the Oslo airport at Gardermoen (OSL) take the Airport express train («Flytoget» in Norwegian) to Nationaltheatret. There are ticket machines near the entrance to the station inside the terminal building – major credit cards accepted. it is also possible to buy tickets from a human, but you cannot buy a ticket on the train. You need a valid ticket to enter the platform. Please note that one in two trains only goes as long as Oslo S. Don't get on one of those; wait another ten minutes for one going to Drammen. Oslo S is the station before Nationaltheatret.

If you scroll right in the map above, or zoom out a bit, you will see a blue train icon placed at Nationaltheatret. As you can see, it's about a kilometer from there to the hotel. (Actually, the icon is placed at the main exit. The train station has another exit next to the subway station which is confusingly enough also called Nationaltheatret, a bit further east on the map. If you travel light, you can easily walk the distance.

You can also take a taxi, but don't take a taxi all the way from the airport! It will be prohibitively expensive.

Yet another alternative is to take a tram from Nationaltheatret. You want line 13 in the direction of Jar. The tram runs along Henrik Ibsens gate, just north of the train station. Get off at Skillebekk; walk one further block along the tramline and turn right on Gabels gate. The hotel is on the left about 150 meters up the street. Unfortunately, the public transportation system in Oslo is not too easy to use for short term visitors. There is a surcharge for buying a single ticket from driver; the full ticket price in that case is 50 kroner; and you may need exact change (more info).
